Snow storm of 2/11/10

Looks like it started snowing around 5:00A and really hasn't stopped since. Temps dropped from 37° to 34° pretty fast once it started. There was almost 2" on the ground by 8A. Coming down in big, wet, fluffy flakes - heavy early but mostly just steady. It was only sticking to the trees and grass leaving the streets just wet so it was no problem getting around through the daylight hours.

As you see temps only moved around a degree or two and didn't go below freezing until about 8:30P.

Here at the house we've got 8½-9" on the ground now. D/FW is reporting 11.2" for the day which sets all sorts of records (which I'll post those next).

I can't remember and don't think I've seen this much snow in 30 years of living in Dallas, TX. It really was just absolutely gorgeous watching it come down all day long both here in Frisco and high above downtown Dallas. Didn't matter whether you were 43 floors up or down at street level - it was just a steady wet and fluffy snowfall for better than 12 hours straight. I'll have some pics and video to share later.
